National Packaging Design Awards (NPDA) were awarded on 10th of November.
At the Baltic Food and Beverage Exhibition BAF 2016, which will take place till the 13th of November at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Center Litexpo, at the NAPA space, where visitors will be able to take a look at the high quality and innovative packaging design examples developed in Lithuania.
This year 79 packaging designs were presented for competition, competing in 8 categories. The commission chose 39 projects for candidates’ shortlist, and 20 productions were rewarded.
Eight members of the LGDA were amongst the winners: Paulius Budrikis (Design Study Juicy Square), Donatas Kliunka and Darius Kisielius (Agency Libre), Miglė Vasiliauskaitė (Design Study Prim Prim), Valerija Žilėnienė, Irmantas Savulionis and Algirdas Orantas (Agency Étiquette), Rapolas Vosylius (Agency Milk).
In category of Ready-to-Use Products the 1st place was awarded for Flavorina cereals line (Agency Milk), the 2nd place – for Breadberry“ bread packages (Agency Libreo), and the 3rd place was awarded for Huracán coffee (Agency Milk).
This year, organizers aim to consolidate the concept that awards are not simply a celebration, but also an opportunity for all the representatives of packaging industry to get together for a dialogue. On the 11th of November, a conference will be held in NAPA Space, allowing to meet the packaging designers, representatives of printing houses or paper manufacturers, and to get a closer look at the notion of circular economy introduced by the Packaging Management Organization (PMO). NAPA partner Antalis invites visitors to make gift packages and learn the difference between cardboard or paper, and how to choose the best type of cardboard for their packaging. And the carton-packaging manufacturer MTL Carton will present some exciting examples of boxes and paper cups and the broad possibilities of printing effects. The NAPA exhibition is prominent this year, with exhibition equipment installed by Ekspobalta, with extensive experience in the field of exhibitions’ arrangements.
