Vilniaus Duona turnover increased in 2016
The sales of Vilniaus Duona increased last year by almost 7%, reaching 31.7 million EUR. Revenue growth heavily depended on bread products for toasting and dark bread sales.
The sales of products in toast bread category increased 28% last year, reaching almost 7 million EUR. Sales of dark bread products reached almost 6 million EUR or 11% more than in 2015.
The sales of dark bread with grain and seeds amounted to 3 million EUR last year, 16% more than in 2015. “We’ve been observing the increased interest in a healthy lifestyle for several years. When making a selection of bread product, buyers look for products with grains and seeds or spelt flour, perfect for fully-fledged diet. Rye products are increasingly gaining popularity, as it’s a growing bread product category”, – tells Gražvydas Jukna, the Commerce Director.
The company also has strengthened their positions in foreign markets. In the year 2015, export represented 5% of the total turnover, reaching up to 8% in the year 2016. Vilniaus Duona predicts the sales growth for the next year also. The increase for 2017 is planned to reach about 3%.
